Fascination with surface and evolving practices...that is what is behind these pots from the early 2000s.   Using stamps to create movement in a static artwork and to emphasize areas of the pot became very important.
Created from slabs of mid-range porcelain, they  are stamped, assembled and bisque fired.  After bisquing the stamped area are filled with colored slip.  That slip is washed off and a cool colored glaze is brush over the top and fired to ^6.
