Ya know I'm lovin' the black and white again. I love the simplicity of form, the great contrast of black to white and the starkness of the embellishment. I had to look for a while to find that the lines on many of the forms were drawings of other pots!
He is primarily concerned with form and line. His work is a successful attempt at the deconstruction of visual and physical elements, reinvented as a visual composition. Homoky states, 'My work attempts to close the gap between the innocence of Alfred Wallis and the purity of Ben Nicholson'.
Nick Homoky was born in Hungary in the early 50's, but attended university in England. He is currently a lecturer at West of England college of the Arts in Bristol.
I can't find Nick's webpage (if he has one), so let me know if YOU find one!
