I admire an artist who can be really loose and yet maintain control of the material. I like these straightforward shapes and the energetic, simple decoration.
Nigel works in an old chicken shed at the bottom of his garden in Norfolk, England. Nigel's pots are handbuilt and thrown earthenware, glazed, then decorated with slips and fired in a wood kiln. The ash created from using wood to fire with adheres to the pot and combines with the glaze to create interesting marks on the fired piece.
