More 'Springy' work...this time from Jen Allen. I have always liked her work...the colors, the stylized plant images, the fluid forms, the contrast between surfaces. That is probably what I like the most...the contrast between shiny and matte.
Jen creates work from high fire porcelain and fires in a reduction kiln. Her glazes are usually Celadons or Shinos. She throws her pieces, then if needed, DARTS them (sewing technique) to alter their form. She decorates with slip trailing at the green ware and / or both green ware and bisque.
She holds a BFA from the U. of Alaska, Anchorage and an MFA from Indiana U. She has also been a Resident at the Bray. She currently lives in West Virginia.
