Love these shades of turquoise to blue. YUM! I also like the subject matter...nature. These hand-drawn images are soooo sweet...lots of birds, especially 'hummies'. Christine's also appears to be, like my work, one-of-a-kind.
Christine creates her work from hand building in molds with paper clay, hence the organic forms.
An South African with an art background she states "I started working with clay about 10 years ago. I enjoy hand building, wheel work as well as the use of moulds. These techniques help me explore the infinite diversity of my material. I choose to work with porcelain for its beautiful 'whiteness' which represents my 'canvas'. I make my own paper-clay porcelain - this process lends itself to the sculptural dimension of my pieces. Each vessel is a unique 'one of a kind' piece."
