I have been posting and trolling on Instagram these last few months looking for inspiration and gorgeousness. I fell for Julie Guyot's work right away...so colorful and subtle at the same time. The decals are like being in my Grandma Speck's kitchen one more time, with wonderful garden grown veggies, a roast from the oven and my relatives there...just for Sunday dinner. Warm fuzzies.
Julie is a handbuilder living in Tallahassee, Florida. She builds from slabs or coils, pinches the edges with obvious finger marks (LOVE!), then fires 3-5 times in a low fire kiln. She uses luster and decals and hand draws on many of her works.
