I found Anna's work on Google images searching for someone else. I love her color palette and simple, but sometimes whimsical forms. I also like that she hand builds...there aren't enough of us out there!!! Like me she uses underglaze, altered slabs, simple printmaking & slips. Unlike me whose vision is garish and 'more is more', she keeps her forms simplified and the feel and color earthy... 'grounding' and 'peaceful' are good words for her work. Another one is 'YUMMY'!! She states that she makes her work "to express her response to landscape and the progression of the seasons".
Anna studied and lives in north central England and exhibits and sells widely in the UK, Europe and the US. With partner, David Thomas, she operates JUNCTION WORKSHOP is located at the edge of the village of Crosshills in the Aire valley, between the Pennine hills and the Yorkshire Dales.
