I am attracted to Chicago artist Joe Kraft's current work from his use of a black/white pallet, matte surfaces, simple fluid forms, and the geometric and colorful embellishment.
I was just at NCECA and his work was in one of the galleries in the Expo. I wanted a cup so badly, but just couldn't afford it. Someday!
He states that "Composition and the placement of parts are of the upmost importance to his visual vocabulary. “These parts” reference a framework of architecture and infrastructure as drawing."
Joe seems to be a jack-of-all-trades when it come to art. His body of work includes, not just functional 'objects', but sculpture, prints and drawings.
I'm a fan!
