MATTHEW GADDIE~

This is Matthew's 2nd time in KC Clay Guild Teabowl National and I am glad his work is back!  His 2017 accepted piece is the first in his gallery.  His previously accepted piece (2012) is the next one on the first row.  He creates delicious utilitarian wood-fired work on his family farm (The Meadows) in Kentucky.
He holds an MA and MFA from Hood College in Maryland.  He is a kiln builder and is active in Kentucky and other regional exhibits and galleries.

MIA ISHIGURO~

This is Mia's first time in Teabowl National.  Her accepted piece is the first one in her gallery.  Her other entries are to it's right...all beautiful.
Mia wood-fires, but has recently began making work for colorful mid-range firings.  She creates utilitarian work as well as sculptural pieces.  Born in Japan, she was trained as a graphic artist.  She moved to the Chicago area, founding an event display company.  See more of her wonderful work at:

    Susan Speck:
I love everything about clay.  I like making, teaching, looking at, owning and using pots.  This blog is a continuation of my Facebook posts that have been going on since the day after the disappointing 2016 election.  I [we] needed to have something good to see and think about.

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
