Marina is a newcomer to KC Clay Guild Teabowl National. Her accepted piece is the first one in her gallery. She leaves the natural clay and only underglazes the floral elements. The illustration on here pieces is amazing!
Marina is a ceramics instructor and an accomplished stone carver. She was born in Vladivostok, in the former Soviet Union and studied biology. She began illustrating biology texts and designing biological exhibitions.
This is also Mark's first Teabowl National. The first teabowl in his gallery is his accepted piece. His surfaces are luscious...glazed and left bare for the soda firing to do it's magic. YUM!
Mark works in white stoneware, creating all but his teabowls and tumblers by piecing together thrown parts. Then, of course, her soda fires his work.
