John has been a KC Clay Guild Teabowls National artist EVERY year (2010-2017) with 11 teabowls accepted. I do believe he has the record for both number of years and number of teabowls! His accepted piece is the first in his gallery.
John calls his work 'rustic and straight forward'. HIs pieces are wood fired to 'emphasize their rugged honesty'.
He holds an BFA and MFA from Rutgers & Marywood University, respectively. He is the Head of Ceramics at the Center for Contemporary Art and Instructor & Ceramics Technician at Raritan Valley Comm College.

This is Justin's first time in Teabowl National. His two accepted pieces are the first two in his gallery. Always lusciously loose in form and embellishment, his work is always a treat for me. After viewing his website, I am particularly fond of the darker work, right/center row.
He has been a Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist, an American Craft Council awardee and presents workshops throughout the country.
He also co-founded the Union Project, a community based, restored historical space whose 'work...centers on the power of arts to transform.'
