Since it's my birthday, I decided it's my turn to be the Artist of the Day today. I have a very small selector of the really old to recent and "the good, the bad & the ugly" of my work since 1973 when I took my first Ceramics class at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Today I turned 63 and I have spent over 40 years in clay. I guess that constitutes a love of clay.
I recently counted all the collected pots in my home and they tally 361. I, no doubt, will have more after the upcoming NCECA conference in Portland, Oregon. I will be presenting in the Process Room (B113-116 on Thursday). My demo is entitled "My Big, Fat, Hollow Bottoms", illustrating my technique for creating a hollow bottomed cup.
