Ya know I love pattern! Like yesterday, I submit more geometrics, plus pattern, for your perusal. I am not a huge fan o Raku, but these appeal to me. There is a lot of color, but not much of the garish, opalescent ones of standard Raku. I also love that these are handbuilt pieces.
Daniel, a potter from San Francisco, is influenced by his prior interest in textiles and the fiber arts. To begin, Daniel embellishes each slab with textures, then builds the pot. After building he applies stamping, brushed or trailed glaze, then fires in a raku kiln, leaving "it up to the Kiln Goddess". See more of Daniel's work on his website.
