I love blue prints and I noticed these pieces by Hawthorne as I googled around for new artists and images for this blog. They are, in fact NOT blue prints, but cyanotypes fired onto low fired porcelain. Cyanotypes are photographic images produced by exposing light sensitive paper (or clay) to ultraviolet light.
Deidre lives and works near the town of Strangford, County Down, Northern Ireland. She has shown her work in the UK and the US. I can not find anything more current than 2013, but go to her website to see more amazing work, not just the cyanotype pieces.
