I can't sleep, so I thought I would get an early start on the blog-arooney. I went cruising through my go-to image site, Google Images and happened upon KELLY KING. Great work!
I am particularly fond of the dog/animal images, the 'drippy', transparent glazes that lead the eye around, as well as the bubbling forms erupting from the surface and... the dot patterns that settle the eye on areas. I find that the obvious work of the hand in lips, feet and forms appeals to me. This work is altogether YUMMY.
Kelly earned an MFA from the University of Georgia, is a workshop artist and currently works at the Fine Art Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
You will notice her work has been featured in AND was the cover artist in the March 2008 Ceramics Monthly.
